Hedge Trimming
Maintenance trimming of hedges is usually carried out between one and three times a year between spring and summer. Care must be taken to ensure that no active bird nests are present that may be potentially disturbed by the trimming. I use battery powered hedge trimmers to reduce noise and pollution from emissions, or hand shears where more appropriate. Hedge trimmings can be composted on site or disposed of in a garden waste collection bin. If you need me to remove hedge trimmings from site for disposal elsewhere, I charge £12 per bulk bag for this service. Hedge trimming is charged at £30 per hour which includes provision of tools and ladders.
Hedge Planting
I can create new hedges by planting bare root whip plants or cell grown saplings to provide a natural and beautiful border to your garden or backdrop to your herbaceous borders. I can also offer advice on which species of hedging will be most suitable for your needs. Hedges are ideally planted between autumn and spring and will require regular watering, weeding, feeding and mulching, especially in the first year until the roots of the plants have developed and the hedge is established.
